ABSTRACT
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disorder that frequently affects young women of reproductive age. The multidirectional interplay between MG, pregnancy, and fetal health poses a complex scenario for pregnant with MG the healthcare team. Here, we reviewed our local experience outcomes.We performed retrospective chart review patients attending Prosserman Family Neuromuscular Clinic from 2001 to 2019 who were referred high-risk pregnancy clinic. status was defined as stable, better, or worse. Information collected on delivery route, neonatal complications.We identified 20 total 28 pregnancies. Worsening observed in 50% pregnancies: 18% during 25% following delivery, 7% both. 66.7% duration 2 years less had worsening pregnancy. Three stopped immunosuppressive treatment worsened one crisis. C-section done 29% rate complications 7%.A high proportion particularly those disease than years, discontinued immunosuppression However, largely unaffected, low, frequencies C-section, complications, premature births similar general population. While study has limitations due nature, these insights provide some guidance when counseling myasthenic about family planning.
