ABSTRACT
Abstract Objective The objective of this study was to highlight 2 models, the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and Disaster Management Indicator model (DiMI), for evaluating in-hospital management a disaster situation through simulation exercises. Methods Two exercises, A B, with similar scenarios were performed. Both exercises evaluated regard actions, processes, structures. After results calculated compared. Results In exercise HICS indicated that 32% required positions immediate phase taken under consideration an average performance 70%. For corresponding scores 42% 68%, respectively. According DiMI model, score 68% processes 63% structure (staff skills). B 77% 86%, Conclusions models demonstrated acceptable in relation previous studies. More research area is needed validate which these methods best evaluates preparedness based on or whether are complementary should therefore be used together.
