ABSTRACT
Abstract Ornamental jewelweed ( Impatiens glandulifera Royle) is an alien invasive plant in Europe. This annual often grows riparian habitats where herbicides are prohibited. Several studies have reported the negative effect on ecosystem and services by this species. However, limited research published control measures aim of our study was to explore use hot water cutting I. . A lab experiment showed that lethal temperature for seed between 45 50 C. In a pot with seeds soil, emergence reduced 78% 93% compared untreated volumes (80 C) 7.2 14.5 L m −2 , respectively. When treatments were conducted relatively tall plants (almost 60 cm) late June, gave significantly better than cutting. Compared control, cover 97% 79% after cutting, Application smaller (<40 less developed (BBCH 12–13) early June visible flower buds (mid-July) led no significant difference cover. 99% (cut below first node) 91% (hot cut above node). treated, high (31.1 ) required twice as many work hours (4.8 min (2.4 ). targeted, 2.1 13.7
