ABSTRACT
Maternal malnutrition during lactation programmes for overweight and central leptin resistance in adulthood. The inhibition of by maternal treatment with bromocriptine (a prolactin inhibitor) obesity, hyperleptinaemia resistance. Here, we evaluated the short- long-term effects early weaning (EW) on body-weight regulation, signalling, hormone lipid profiles rats offspring. Lactating were separated into two groups: EW – dams wrapped a bandage to interrupt last 3 d lactation; control whose pups had free access milk all (21 d). Data significant at P < 0·05. At weaning, presented lower body weight ( − 10 %), length 4 visceral fat 40 total 30 serum 73 glycaemia insulin 20 %) index (IRI; but higher protein content (+40 %). 180 d, offspring showed hyperphagia, (+3 (+8 (+36 84 TAG (+96 (+15 leptinaemia (+185 IRI (+29 %); however, they 23 leptin:body ratio (41 prolactinaemia 38 adiponectinaemia 59 Despite unchanged receptor (OB-R) signal transducer activator transcription (STAT3), displayed hypothalamic janus tyrosine kinase 2, phosphorylated STAT3 suppressor cytokine signalling levels, suggesting Adult that weaned adiposity, dyslipidaemia, which are related metabolic syndrome development. Our model reinforces idea neonatal caused shortening period is important programming future diseases.
