ABSTRACT
Abstract Monocytes and macrophages are involved in a wide range of biological processes parasitic diseases. The characterization the molecular mechanisms governing such usually requires precise control expression genes interest. We implemented tetracycline-controlled gene system U937 cell line, one most used vitro models for research human monocytes macrophages. Here we characterized U937-derived lines terms phenotypic (morphology marker expression) functional (capacity phagocytosis Leishmania parasite hosting) changes induced by phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate (PMA). Finally, provide evidence tetracycline-inducible reversible Lamin-A silencing PMA-differentiated cells.
