ABSTRACT
Abstract During a 1-year study, Trichuris adults were obtained after necropsy of Arabian camels ( Camelus dromedarius ) from slaughterhouse in Kuwait. Morphological and molecular identification was performed to confirm the identity specimens C. dromedarius. Fifteen male selected, using mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I, 12S ribosomal RNA, 16S RNA genes nuclear internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) region. Through phylogenetic analysis, distinct groups genes, where group 1 showed close relationship globulosa while ovis , providing evidence possible T. species complex. Additionally, ITS2 region did not provide enough resolution distinguish between specimens. Observation morphological characters revealed variations shape spicule sheath, present either globular posteriorly truncated swelling or absence swelling. Moreover, sheath does corroborate with results data, suggesting limited use this character for . In conclusion, analysis suggests complex genetic markers successfully differentiating groups. The as diagnostic is suggested.
