ABSTRACT
Recently published diagnostic criteria for mild cognitive impairment with Lewy bodies (MCI-LB) include five neuropsychiatric supportive features (non-visual hallucinations, systematised delusions, apathy, anxiety and depression). We have previously demonstrated that the presence of two or more these symptoms differentiates MCI-LB from MCI due to Alzheimer's disease (MCI-AD) a likelihood ratio >4. The aim this study was replicate findings in an independent cohort.Participants ⩾60 years old were recruited. Each participant had detailed clinical, imaging assessment including FP-CIT SPECT cardiac MIBG. determined using Neuropsychiatric Inventory (NPI). Participants classified as MCI-AD, possible probable based on current criteria. excluded further analysis.Probable (n = 28) higher NPI total distress scores than MCI-AD 30). In total, 59% compared 9% (likelihood 6.5, p < 0.001). participants also significantly greater delayed recall lower Trails A:Trails B MCI-AD.MCI-LB is associated MCI-AD. defined by highly specific moderately sensitive diagnosis MCI-LB. profile differs executive lesser memory impairment, but differences are not sufficient differentiate
