ABSTRACT
The current investigation was conducted with the objective to develop an epidemiological case definition of possible severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) re-infection and assess its magnitude in India. for SARS-CoV-2 developed from literature review data on viral kinetics. For achieving second objective, individuals who satisfied were contacted telephonically. Taking available evidence into consideration, our study defined as any individual tested positive two separate occasions by either molecular tests or rapid antigen test at interval least 102 days one negative between. In this archive based, telephonic survey, 58 out 1300 (4.5%) fulfilled above-mentioned definition; 38 could be healthcare workers (HCWs) accounting 31.6% cases. A large proportion participants asymptomatic had higher Ct value during first episode. While is still a rare phenomenon, there need establishing surveillance systems contributes such goal.Severe emerging concern define it. Therefore, working explored via archive-based, survey. Re-infection interim test. Thirty-eight eligible patients 12 (31.6%) being HCWs. Majority their To conclude, important strengthen surveillance. present goal records reinfection 4.5% infected
