ABSTRACT
Little data are available concerning the methods used in long-term follow-up of Fontan patients. We analyzed association between serum N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide levels, conventional echocardiography findings, exercise parameters, and dyssynchrony measurements patients who underwent surgery. This study included 28 surgery (mean age 12.8 ± 4.36 years) 27 healthy controls 12.5 3.76 years). Echocardiography examinations tests were performed both groups. The systemic ventricle was examined via echocardiography, measurement performed, ventricular myocardial performance index calculated, levels measured for all subjects.Lower cardiac output, stroke volume, maximal work, chronotropic index, oxygen uptake, higher observed group than control (p < 0.05). A negative correlation found physical parameters measurements.Measurements capacity, more valuable assessing patients' clinical functional status. Dyssynchrony provided better information about status did studies. While systolic function determined by normal, showed opposite result. relationship measurements, capacity suggests that these should be investigated further
