Abstract Aims The second Singapore Mental Health Study (SMHS) – a nationwide, cross-sectional, epidemiological survey - was initiated in 2016 with the intent of tracking state mental health general population Singapore. study employed same methodology as first 2010. SMHS aimed to (i) establish 12-month and lifetime prevalence correlates major depressive disorder (MDD), dysthymia, bipolar disorder, generalised anxiety (GAD), obsessive compulsive (OCD) alcohol use (AUD) (which included abuse dependence) (ii) compare these disorders reference data from Methods Door-to-door household surveys were conducted adult residents aged 18 years above 2018 ( n = 6126) which yielded response rate 69.0%. subjects randomly selected using disproportionate stratified sampling method assessed World Organization Composite International Diagnostic Interview version 3.0 (WHO-CIDI 3.0). diagnoses including MDD, GAD, OCD, AUD (alcohol dependence), based on Statistical Manual Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV) criteria.
