ABSTRACT
To investigate the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in hard-hit areas 10 years after Wenchuan earthquake, and explore risk factors long-term PTSD among earthquake survivors.A matched case-control study was conducted. The involving participants were from earthquake. collected information includes demographic characteristics, socioeconomic status, behaviour habits, exposure, perceived social support, physical health mental health. Mental status measured using Checklist-Civilian Version (PCL-C). Respondents with PCL-C score ⩾38 classified as cases, then cases controls based on age (±3 years) community location according to a ratio 1:3.We obtained 86 258 controls. After controlling for confounding factors, it found that lower income (OR 2.42; 95% CI 1.16-5.03), chronic diseases 3.00; 1.31-6.88) death immediate families 7.30; 2.36-22.57) significantly associated symptoms.Even survivors still suffered severe trauma. Low income, earthquakes are symptoms. Interventions by local governments institutions address these should be undertaken promote survivors.
