ABSTRACT
Five potassium dihydrogen phosphate crystals were successfully grown by the 2D-translation method with continuous filtration. Crystals this and conventional rotation compared from perspectives of optical transmission, absorption, microhardness, thermal stability, laser damage threshold, chemical etching. The transmission former is higher than that latter throughout whole ultraviolet visible light regions, absorption value remarkably lower in UV region. hardness (001) face under filtration 4.4–11.2% when given a 25 g load; likewise, density etching pits also indicate have quality. In addition, effects translation velocity, distance, crystal mounting mode on quality investigated; an increase increases at first then decreases, which turning point 0.04 m/s, distance helps
