ABSTRACT
We propose a methodology for identifying and prioritizing the best potential locations brine concentration facilities in contiguous United States. The uses geographic information system multicriteria decision analysis (GIS-MCDA) to prioritize based on thermodynamic, economic, environmental, social criteria. By integrating geospatial data with computational simulation of real system, an objective weighting method identifies weights 13 subcriteria associated main When considering multiple dimensions making, centered Florida were consistently selected as location, due high second-law efficiency, low transportation cost, capacity supplying municipal water needs nearby populations. For inland locations, Southeast Texas outperforms all other environmental priority cases. A sensitivity evaluates consistency results criterion varies relative decision-making Focusing single subcriterion misleads making when location systems, importance methodology.
