ABSTRACT
Tailoring the interfaces between active metal centers and supporting materials is an efficient strategy to obtain a superior catalyst for certain reaction. Herein, interface Ru CeO2 was identified constructed by adjusting morphology of support, such as rods (R), cubes (C), octahedra (O), optimize both activity stability Ru/CeO2 propane combustion. We found that support does not significantly affect chemical states species but controls interaction CeO2, leading tuning oxygen vacancy in surface around Ru-CeO2 interface. The possesses more when CeO2-R with predominantly exposed CeO2{110} facets used, providing higher ability adsorb activate propane. As result, Ru/CeO2-R exhibits catalytic combustion compared Ru/CeO2-C Ru/CeO2-O catalysts. This work highlights new design metal/CeO2 catalysts engineering associated facet elimination light alkane pollutants other volatile organic compounds.
