ABSTRACT
A new method to determine the hemispherical incident light (photon) flux density onto cylindrical photoreactors or photobioreactors is presented. It applies situations where photo(bio)reactor radially illuminated by surrounding artificial sources solar light. relies on direct measurement of a fluence rate with spherical sensor put at center reactor. Theoretical relations leading calculation from value are established, and web application performing those calculations made available. view factor, expression which, established for first time any assumption angular distribution boundary, given. This requires proper definition degree collimation radiation field. Two different complementary experimental devices used validate method. As result, proposed appears be simple reliable; it even looks faster more accurate than actinometry this particular geometry.
