ABSTRACT
Sustainable production of 2,3-pentanedione from lactic acid over Ba2P2O7 doped with Cs was investigated. Varying components and calcination temperature can efficiently tune the acid–base properties catalysts. It found that both base site density had a marked impact on catalytic performance for condensation to 2,3-pentanedione. Enhanced favor activity. Furthermore, base/acid molar ratio has also played an important role performance. From observations based effect amount temperature, appropriate is around 8. Low reaction as well low LA LHSV favors selective formation catalyst 1.0CsNO3/2.5Ba2P2O7 calcined at 600 °C. Encouragingly, proceeds 28 h stream, selectivity remains 60%.
