ABSTRACT
This work is focused on the structural and physical properties of CePt2Al2, an intermetallic compound. At room temperature, modulated orthorhombic structure Cmme(a00)000, with q→= (0.481, 0, 0) has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction supplemented dependence lattice parameters above temperature for which powder was used. The compound undergoes a transition to tetragonal temperature. exhibits 50 °C hysteresis creates domain in sample. magnetic behavior studied specific heat, magnetization, transport measurements range between 0.5 300 K. Specific heat susceptibility shows antiferromagnetic order below 2 On basis electrical resistivity other bulk measurements, CePt2Al2 can be considered Kondo material. presence crystal opens possibility charge density wave state as observed (Re)Pt2Si2.
