ABSTRACT
The aim of the current study is to investigate effects spray dry powders Curcuma longa containing 40% curcumin (CM-SD), as a new aqueous formula, on sarcopenia in chronic forced exercise executed 10 month old ICR mice. CM-SD (80 and 40 mg/kg) increased calf thicknesses strengths, total body protein amounts, muscle weights both gastrocnemius soleus muscles. mRNA expressions regarding growth synthesis were induced, while those degradation significantly declined treatment. decreased serum biochemical markers, lipid peroxidation, reactive oxygen species endogenous antioxidants enzyme activities. It also reduced immunoreactive myofibers for apoptosis oxidative stress markers but ATPase myofibers. These results suggest that can be an adjunct therapy exercise-based remedy prevents disorders including by anti-apoptosis, anti-inflammation, antioxidation-mediated modulation gene related synthesis.
