ABSTRACT
The antiobesity efficacy and underlying mechanisms of polysaccharides extracted from Fu brick tea (FBTP) were investigated. An 8-week administration FBTP dose-dependently inhibited increases in body weight weights the epididymal-, retroperitoneal- inguinal-white adipose tissues stimulated beige-fat development brown tissue-derived nonshivering thermogenesis high-fat diet-induced obese mice. protected against obesity-associated abnormality serum adiponectin leptin, indicating its positive regulation energy metabolism. reversed gut dysbiosis by enriching beneficial bacteria, for example, Lactobacillus, Parabacteroides, Akkermansia, Bifidobacterium, Roseburia. Results fecal microbiota transplantation further confirmed that FBTP-induced microbial shifts contributed to browning thermogenesis, thereby alleviating host adiposity, glucose homeostasis, dyslipidemia, related hepatic steatosis. Our study demonstrates great potential with prebiotic-like activities preventing obesity metabolic complications via microbiota-derived enhancement fat burning expenditures.
