ABSTRACT
Astragalus hoantchy, a widely cultivated medicinal plant species in traditional Chinese and Mongolian medicine, has been often hampered by replant failure during cultivation, like many other herbs of the genus Astragalus. Root aqueous extracts were reported to exhibit allelopathic activity against plants autotoxic on their own seedlings, but allelochemicals released have not specified so far. Ten compounds isolated from rhizosphere soil extract A. hoantchy elucidated spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 1-6 observably showed Lactuca sativa seedlings seedlings. The further confirmed quantified high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) soil, with total concentration 9.78 μg/g (dry weight). These results specify verify into environment, which may provide new insights mechanisms this probably assist clarifying problems plants.
