ABSTRACT
Avermectin (AVM) is a low-toxic and high-active biopesticide, but it can be easily degraded by UV light. In this paper, biodegradable castor oil-based polyurethanes (CO-PU) are synthesized used as carriers to fabricate new kind of AVM/CO-PU nanoemulsion through an emulsion solvent evaporation method, the chemical structure, colloidal property, AVM loading capacity, controlled-release behavior, foliar adhesion, photostability drug delivery systems investigated. Results show that physically encapsulated in CO-PU carrier nanospheres, diameter nanoparticles <50 nm, films flat smooth without any aggregate. The capacity up 42.3 wt % with high encapsulation efficiency >85%. release profiles indicate rate relatively at early stage then slows, which adjusted loaded content, temperature, pH medium. pesticide retention nanoemulsions improved, photolysis significantly slower than free AVM. A mechanism proposed, controlled both diffusion matrix erosion.
