ABSTRACT
Experimental data of the adsorption tetrabromobisphenol-A (TBBPA) and its metabolites [bisphenol-A (BPA) 2,6-dibromophenols (2,6-DBP)] on two different organic-modified clays were determined in single, binary, ternary solute systems. In a single system, both adsorbents showed high selectivity for TBBPA; logarithms coefficients (Kd's) three organics are nonlinearly related to logarithm their octanol–water partition (Kow's). binary uptake TBBPA was reduced by presence BPA reduction depended initial concentration BPA. Meanwhile, enhanced 2,6-DBP at concentrations because synergetic adsorption. The Freundlich model Sheindorf–Rebuhn–Sheintuch provided best fit system. On basis comparison between multiple systems, KF value decreased order: (6.0 μmol/l-2,6-DBP) > μmol/l-BPA); system system; no enhancement observed. kinetic followed pseudo second-order equation capacity compared with that However, total increased.
