ABSTRACT
The objective of the presented module is to train students with no background in process development and scaleup chromatographic processes a high level competency within 40 contact hours. key pedagogical approach "progression" where students' capabilities are gradually built up appropriate scaffolding provided at each stage their learning. broken into three steps, step covering different aspect chromatography. Knowledge gained one foundation for work next. In first step, investigate several column packing materials perform solvent selection process. Design experiment (DOE) systematically vary parameters method introduced second step. last use preparative-LC system larger-scale separation. Students explore scale-up scenarios, including volume fraction collection overloading. Pedagogic outcomes were determined through surveys, interviews, personal interaction during study. Results clearly indicate that engaged well while meeting overall learning objectives. equally suitable third- or fourth-year university industry practitioners unfamiliar chromatography as part continuing professional development.
