ABSTRACT
Organic fluorophores have attracted great interest owing to their wide applications. They usually contain an electron-conjugated system with aromatic moiety and show high emission in dilute solutions but weaker or even no upon aggregation. Here, a simple one-pot, three-component reaction (3CR) (method I) for the synthesis of various di- monosubstituted aminomaleimides (DAMIs MAMIs) has been developed, reported 3CR II) found be efficient only MAMIs R2 = alkyl. Twelve AMIs were designed synthesized investigation influence structures on optical properties monomers aggregates. It was that alkyl MAMIs, DAMIs, aryl AMIs/DAMIs very different fluorescence efficiencies solvents, butyl oleyl emissions powders similar those nonpolar solutions. Single-crystal indicate aggregates mainly correlate molecular packing modes. The method, sensitive on-off response protic solvents polar unusual AMI without any both monomer are expected attract fields application theory.
