ABSTRACT
Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a severe psychiatric disease that has critically affected life quality for millions of people. Chronic stress gradually recognized as primary pathogenesis risk factor MDD. Despite the remarkable progress in mechanism research, MDD still not well understood. Therefore, we conducted liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) detection 25 major metabolites tryptophanic, GABAergic, and catecholaminergic pathways prefontal cortex (PFC) mice chronic social defeat (CSDS). The depressed exhibit significant reduction glutamate GABAergic pathway an increase L-DOPA vanillylmandelic acid pathways. data real-time-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) Western blotting analysis revealed altered level glutamatergic circuitry. metabolomic molecular reveal shed lights to on depression-like resilient phenotype.
