ABSTRACT
To integrate surface and interfacial properties phenomena into the Hansen solubility parameter (HSP) framework, we propose an equation for estimating both tension/energy liquids solids as well tension/energy. The contact angles of probe on various polymers estimated using proposed based bulk HSPs (derived from such or swelling, not properties) are compared with those measured sessile drop method. It is found that their correlations sufficient predicting wettability in practical use. All respective tension energy reasonably good, confirming predictive power all values liquid tension, solid energy, tension. unification enables us to estimate vice versa. huge database now applicable only but also phenomena. Furthermore, complex processes systems composed multiple constituents phases can be understood designed modified HSP framework.
