ABSTRACT
l-cysteine, as an eco-friendly and nontoxic corrosion inhibitor, was directly covalently linked to the carbon/carbon double bonds of GO flakes by a thiol–ene click reaction avoid decreasing number hydrophilic oxygen-containing polar functionalities. The inhibition performances Cys-GO toward Q235 steel (QS) in diluted hydrochloric acid were studied electrochemical methods. charge transfer-controlled process, manifested mixed-type inhibitor. efficiency (η) for QS showed first-increase-and-then-decrease trend with increasing concentrations. optimum concentration 15 mg L–1, according η value up 90%. adsorbed on surface form protective barrier responsible efficient inhibition. Langmuir adsorption isotherm model fitted well experiment data, indicating monolayer adsorption. Furthermore, coordinate covalent bonds, π-back-donation effect, electrostatic attraction surface.
