ABSTRACT
The scaling of the thickness, hs, a densely grafted polymer brush chain length N and grafting density σ swollen in vapor agrees quantitatively with reported by Kuhl et al. for brushes liquid. Deep brush, next to substrate, shape segment concentration profile is same whether liquid or vapor. Differences are manifested primarily interface surrounding fluid. much more abrupt than that This has implications compressibility surface fluctuations at surface.
