ABSTRACT
Solvent plays a vital role in the syntheses, purifications, and broad applications of upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs). In this work, effect various dispersive solvents, including single solvents mixed on luminescence properties NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ UCNPs was studied systematically. The differences both (UCL) intensities color outputs were observed when dispersing deuterium oxide, dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), ethanol, or water. attenuation excitation emission light caused by absorption as well high-frequency vibrational groups such −OH, −CH2, −CH3 groups, are responsible for decrease UCL increase red to green intensity ratios (RGR). changes water OH– ion contents ethanol/water solvent triggered similar properties. Interestingly, quenching cannot be fully eliminated changing once have touched containing groups. Our work will facilitate comprehension induced variations provide guidance their applications.
