ABSTRACT
The mechanical properties of an amorphous polymer are a consequence the inter- and intramolecular interactions which typically similar. Yet, polymers can be made with covalent cross-links, leading to stronger interactions. Here, study on effect this cross-linking glassy is shown. A linear poly(methyl methacrylate) defined size was cross-linked at different ratios assembled into solid samples by solvent casting. Mechanical testing indicates that does not affect elastic region but influence these plastic region. Interestingly, leads effects than "regular" interchain cross-linking. results consistent reduction in chain entanglement, reducing toughness lesser extent strength.
