ABSTRACT
3,13-Di(cyclic carbonate) double decker silsesquioxane, a new difunctional polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS), was successfully synthesized. By using this POSS macromer, the organic–inorganic poly(hydroxyl urethanes) (PHUs) were synthesized with cages in main chains. Compared to neat PHU, PHUs displayed improved thermomechanical properties. The microphase-separated, and main-chain self-assembled into nanodomains size of 10–30 nm. It found that acted as nano-cross-linking points physically cross-linked networks. Although linear soluble common organic solvents, they capable displaying properties similar PHU elastomers. Owing physical cross-linking, endowed shape memory In meantime, can be reprocessed at elevated temperature; tensile mechanical strength recovered up 90%. reprocessing resulted from transcarbamoylation reaction hydroxyurethane structural units other than disintegration temperature. utilized program original shapes polymers.
