ABSTRACT
Developing general methods to fabricate water-dispersible and biocompatible fluorescent probes will promote different biological visualization applications. Herein, we report a metal-facilitated method ultrabright green-emissive nanodots via the one-step solvothermal treatment of rose bengal, ethanol, various metal ions. These metal-doped show good water dispersity, ultrahigh photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) (e.g., PLQY Fe-doped (FeNDs) was ∼97%), low phototoxicity. Owing coordination effect ions, FeNDs realize glutathione detection with outstanding properties. Benefiting from high endoplasmic reticulum (ER) affinity chloride group, can act as an ER tracker long imaging capacity (FeNDs: >24 h; commercial tracker: ∼1 h) superb photostability achieve tissue in living
