ABSTRACT
An efficient method for the deposition of ionic platinum species PtOx onto a TiO2 surface was developed on basis light-induced activation [Pt(NO3)6]2- anion. The deposited with an effective Pt oxidation state between +4 and +2 have oxygen-made environment include single ion centers {PtOn} polyatomic ensembles {PtnOm} connected to Pt-O-Ti bonds. resulting PtOx/TiO2 materials were tested as photocatalysts hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) from water ethanol mixture shown uniquely high activity rate H2 achieving 11 mol h-1 per gram Pt, which is highest result such reported date. A combination spectral methods shows that, under HER conditions, reduction supported leads formation well-dispersed nanoparticles metallic attached by Ti-O-Pt believed uniform distribution small over titania their close interaction TiO2.
