ABSTRACT
Unique structure and ability to control the surface termination groups of MXenes make these materials extremely promising for solid lubrication applications. Due challenging delamination process, tribological properties two-dimensional particles have been mostly investigated as additive components in solvents working macrosystem, while understanding nanotribological mono- few-layer is still limited. Here, we investigate double-layer Ti3C2Tx deposited by Langmuir–Schaefer technique on SiO2/Si substrates. The friction all samples demonstrated superior with respect SiO2 substrate, force monolayers was found be slightly higher compared double- three-layer flakes, which similar friction. coefficient estimated 0.087 ± 0.002 0.082 0.003 respectively. viscous regime suggested dominant mechanism at high scanning velocities, meniscus forces affected contamination were proposed low sliding velocities.
