ABSTRACT
Phosphorene, also known as black phosphorus nanosheet (BPNS), has been investigated a nanoagent for tumor therapy. However, promoting its intracellular accumulation while preventing the cytoplasmic decomposition remains challenging. Herein, first time, we propose chiral BPNS designed through surface engineering based on amino acids with high biocompatibility and an abundant source application in chirality-dependent phototherapy metabolism. The advantage of using cysteine (Cys) over other was that d, l, or dl-form could efficiently work chirality inducer to modify electrostatic interaction prevent alterations intrinsic properties BPNS. In particular, d-Cys-BPNS displayed approximately threefold cytotoxic effect cells compared l-Cys-BPNS, demonstrating therapy behavior. not only promoted content but showed resistance decomposition. Cys-engineered demonstrated effects tumor-bearing mice, proximity results vitro. Chiral is expected open new avenues promote use boost nanomedicine.
