ABSTRACT
Ni3S2 nanowire arrays doped with vanadium(V) are directly grown on nickel foam by a facile one-step hydrothermal method. It is found that the doping can promote formation of nanowires at low temperature. The show excellent electrocatalytic performance toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and outperform pure other Ni3S2-based compounds. stability test shows V-doped improved stabilized after thousands linear sweep voltammetry test. onset potential be as 39 mV, which comparable to platinum. has an overpotential 68 mV 10 mA cm-2, relatively Tafel slope 112 dec-1, good high Faradaic efficiency. First-principles calculations V-doping in extremely enhances free carrier density near Fermi level, resulting much catalytic activities. We expect effective way enhance metal disulfides one most promising electrocatalysts for production.
