ABSTRACT
The introduction of cell-based therapies has provided new and unique strategies to treat many diseases disorders including the recent approval CAR-T cell therapy for leukemia. Cell surface engineering is a methodology in which tailored modulate cellular function interactions. In addition genetic proteins, wide array robust, innovative elegant approaches have been developed selectively target surface. this review, we will introduce leading currently used broadly reactive chemical ligations physical associations as well more controlled demonstrated genetic, enzymatic metabolic engineering. Prominent applications these be highlighted targeted death, control over stem fate, immunoevasion, blood transfusion delivery cells tissues. Advances focused specifically on are most promising generating therapeutics red cells, white (lymphocytes, macrophages), (multipotent pluripotent), islet cancer endothelial cells.
