ABSTRACT
We demonstrate the realization of first label-free optical biosensor based on room temperature luminescence silicon nanowires (NWs) tested for selective detection C-reactive protein in human serum. High aspect ratio Si NW arrays used as sensing interface, are synthesized by a fast, low cost and industrially compatible approach. biosensors fast offer broad concentration dynamic range that can be tuned according to different applications. Moreover, platform is endowed with high selectivity toward target analyte sensitivity down fM limit detection, opening route noninvasive analysis biofluids such saliva.
