ABSTRACT
The acceleration of climatic, digital, and health challenges is testing scientific communities. Scientists must provide concrete answers in terms technological solutions to a society which expects immediate returns on the public investment. We are living such scenario global scale with pandemic crisis COVID-19 where expectations for virological serological diagnosis tests have been still gigantic. In this Perspective, we focus class biosensors (mechanical biosensors) ubiquitous literature form high performance, sensitive, selective, low-cost biological analysis systems. spectacular development announced their performance last 20 years suggested possibility finding these mechanical sensors front line COVID-19, but reality was quite different. analyze cause rendez-vous manqué, operational criteria that kept away from field, indicate pitfalls avoid future all types ultimate goal be immediately intended application.
