ABSTRACT
Microalgae are regarded as promising organisms to develop innovative concepts based on their photosynthetic capacity that offers more sustainable production than heterotrophic hosts. However, realize potential green cell factories, a major challenge is make microalgae easier engineer. A approach for rapid and predictable genetic manipulation use standardized synthetic biology tools workflows. To this end we have developed Modular Cloning toolkit the microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. It Golden Gate cloning with standard syntax, comprises 119 openly distributed parts, most of which been functionally validated in several strains. contains promoters, UTRs, terminators, tags, reporters, antibiotic resistance genes, introns cloned various positions allow maximum modularity. The enables building engineered cells both fundamental research algal biotechnology. This work will next chassis biology.
