ABSTRACT
This study aims to investigate the correlation of photocatalytic oxidation effect decomposing organic matter and inactivating bacteria using two different TiO2 materials: a Degussa P25 powder film commercial thin film. The destructed was formaldehyde test bacterium E. coli (JM 109 strain). decomposition tests bactericidal were carried out in plate reactor on surface, respectively. Observations indicate that there exists an apparent between processes coli. However, it is essential distinguish exact driver for microbe inactivation, which both UV light irradiation reactive oxygen species reaction are direct factors disinfection, matter, only contributes degradation. from this would make possible use analogy as potential method evaluate antimicrobial based compound degradation effect, whereby latter much easier measure quantitatively.
