ABSTRACT
New Fe(II) coordination polymeric neutral chains of formula [Fe(aqin)2(μ2-M(CN)4)] (M = Ni(II) (1) and Pt(II) (2)) (aqin Quinolin-8-amine) have been synthesized characterized by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, magnetic measurements. The crystal structure determinations 1-2 reveal in both cases a one-dimensional which the planar [M(CN)4](2-) anion acts as μ2-bridging ligand, two aqin molecules chelating coligands. Examination intermolecular contacts compounds reveals that main are ascribed to hydrogen bonding interactions involving amine groups ligands nitrogen atoms non bridging CN anion. average values six Fe-N distances observed respectively at room temperature (293 K) low (120 K), is, 2.142(3) 2.035(2) Å for 1, 2.178(3) 1.990(2) 2, thermal variation cell parameters (performed on 2) indicative presence an abrupt HS-LS spin crossover (SCO) transition compounds. dependence product molar susceptibility times (χmT), cooling warming modes, confirms SCO behavior about 145 133 K 1 respectively, small hysteresis 2 each compound.
