Improved recovery after music and therapeutic suggestions during general anaesthesia: a double‐blind randomised controlled trial

ABSTRACT
This study was designed to determine whether music or in combination with therapeutic suggestions the intra-operative period under general anaesthesia could improve recovery of hysterectomy patients.In a double-blind randomised clinical investigation, 90 patients who underwent were intra-operatively exposed music, suggestion operation room sounds. The standardised. Postoperative analgesia provided by patient-controlled (PCA). pain scores recorded means visual analogue scale. Nausea, emesis, bowel function, fatigue, well-being and duration hospital stay studied as outcome variables.On day surgery, required less rescue analgesic compared controls. Patients group experienced more effective first after surgery be mobilised earlier operation. At discharge from combined fatigued No differences noted nausea, length between groups.This has demonstrated that may have some beneficial effects on postoperative hysterectomy. Further controlled studies are necessary confirm our results.
