ABSTRACT
Knowledge of the histochemical substrates cellular and neurovascular connections in gingiva is essential order to understand initial mechanisms inflammation periodontium. Since localization neuroendocrine peptide galanin still unclear, we used immunohistochemical, situ hybridization immunoblot techniques assess rat molars. Galanin‐immunoreactive nerve fibers were located around blood vessels lamina propria, beneath epithelium, epithelial–proprial junction basal layer epithelium. Galanin was highly expressed suprabasal keratinocytes gingival The expression epithelium indicate that may be a possible regulator different functions gingiva.
