ABSTRACT
Abstract: We have studied the inhibitory effect of aloe emodin on hepatic stellate cells activation and proliferation, as these play a key role in pathogenesis fibrosis. Rat were activated by contact with plastic dishes, resulting their transformation into myofibroblast‐like cells. Primary exposed to (1–10 μg/ml). Possible cytotoxic effects measured hepatocytes using 3‐(4,5‐dimethylthiazol‐2‐yl)‐2,5‐diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. The production type I collagen smooth muscle cell α‐actin examined at same concentration, quantitative immunoprecipitation. Antiproliferative bromodeoxyuridine incorporation. Aloe 10 μg/ml restored morphological changes characteristic primary cells, reduced DNA synthesis 95% control without affecting viability, inhibited expression 86.77% 99%, respectively, which suggest that is potent inhibitor transformation.
