ABSTRACT
The study examines ethnic/racial differences at the start of treatment in Treatment for Adolescents with Depression Study (TADS).African American and Latino youth were compared to Caucasian on symptom presentation cognitive variables associated depression.Contrary hypothesis, there no significant as measured by interview-based items Children's Rating Scale -Revised (CDRS-R).However, African both rated demonstrating more severe symptoms observational CDRS-R.In terms depression, Americans reported fewer negative biases Caucasians, but significantly correlated depression severity across ethnic groups.
