ABSTRACT
Ample research suggests that peer victimization predicts social and psychological maladjustment, including emotional (e.g., anxiety, low self-esteem, depression) behavioral aggression) problems among children. Thus, a reliable measure of for with young children is needed. The Social Experience Questionnaire-Self-Report (SEQ-S) has been widely used in existing to assess children's (Crick & Grotpeter, 1996). However, empirical support the psychometric properties SEQ-S limited by methods evaluate it (i.e., exploratory as opposed confirmatory analyses), lack longitudinal data, age ranges studied. This study examined underlying factor structure ratings across 3 time points sample 830 early elementary school using analysis. hypothesized model included latent factors: overt victimization, relational receipt prosocial acts from peers. provided good fit data at each point. Although not clear there invariance, results indicate invariance time, sex, grade could be present. Recommendations continued use future on are discussed.
