ABSTRACT
Employee family relationships have been increasingly tied to job outcomes and are known be a strong predictor of employee health well-being. As such, taking steps toward uncovering actionable tools organizations can implement foster improvements in relationship quality is important should not overlooked occupational psychology interventions. Supportive supervisor training (SST) targets improving employees' ability meet their nonwork needs; however, the focus discussions implications SST largely excluded marital parent-child relationships, spouses, spousal outcomes. Further, mounting evidence suggests contextual factors shape when most meaningful; more research needed uncover individual-level that may facilitate effects. This study used cluster-randomized controlled trial design evaluate worksite-based with sample 250 employees (separated military veterans) matched spouses. Using an intent-to-treat approach 2-level random effects models, results demonstrated promoted couples' dyadic 9 months following baseline. Additionally, were under higher levels baseline stress, positive parenting both improved SST. Thus, beneficial for as reported by which goes beyond previously well-being benefits.
