Using the method developed for radon measurement in soil gas, the vertical profile of radon concentration in the upper 1 m of soil was investigated. Radon is estimated from the beta activity of daughter products collected on a filter paper from a stored sample containing radon in equilibrium with its daughter products. (M.C.G.)
