ABSTRACT
Homeobox (HOX) genes encode a family of transcription factors, which play crucial roles in numerous processes, and their dysregulation is involved the carcinogenesis many human cancers. In present study, we investigated HOXC8 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We showed that was upregulated clinical NSCLC specimens compared to normal tissues, high expression correlated with tumor node metastasis (TNM) stage, status, lymph nodal status poor relapse-free survival for patients. Functionally, significantly promoted proliferation, anchorage-independent growth migration NSCLC, functioned as activator induce TGFβ1, leading an increase NSCLC. Furthermore, demonstrated associated chemoresistance anti-apoptosis suggesting promising therapeutic target chemosensitization cisplatin. Altogether, our study defined critical role promoting TGFβ1 tumorigenesis.
